I touched a pair of decks for the very first time at the age of 13, having arrived back from my banishment to Norfolk, where I had to go stay with me nan for the weekend so my mum could have a mini rave-up in our house! Was instantly fascinated by them and couldn't help but to get stuck in there, much to the delight of the poor guy who owned the expensive piece of kit. That was the day I sold my soul, and I have rarely thought of anything but dj'ing since. It's like a very pleasant illness. Love it!
Once I learned the basics, within a couple of months I was playing at parties around my area, getting stuck in wherever I legally could. I also briefly played on a pirate station at 14 getting stuck in where I illegally could, but the station unfortunately got knocked off! I frequently played at school and college gigs, aswell as a few of the student union nights when I was studying at uni! Half way through my second year of uni I had a mad old session resulting in me making the decision to completely quit my psychology course to try to make it as a dj and producer- something I had put on hold whilst I was studying. Not quite the plan but glad I did!
Qutting my course and leaving myself wide open has fueled my motivation to actually do something about my talent, thus I started making a few live demos and sent my first email to Judge Jules (one of my fav dj's!). Tristan Dorian, his assistant and organiser, replied instantly saying he would be very interested to hear a mix. Thus i sent him one over and he offered me a slot at the peach re-launch on April 18th 2009! He said see it as a chance to get to meet everyone, have a bit of fun, and we will work from there, with possibility of a residency. The success of one email again fuelled my motivation, hence me contacting the agency.
When I started mixing I initially used to play garage music when UK garage scene was at it's finest. However upon hearing tracks like Silence by Delerium along with Insomnia by Faithless (big tuneage at the time!) I realised this was the direction I wanted to take, thus I switched genres and explored my love for trance music. However my passion is not so limited in that I only love or play Trance. For my passion lies with music, which means I love and explore every branch of it. Moreover, thanks to Pioneer and their great innovative equipment it's now possible financially for me to play and dj within a wide field of genres, thus making me very flexible and versataille as a dj! I also have plans to start producing music once I can afford all the expensive software and gadgets that are required to express the ideas in my head musically.
