Mike McGuinness is a grafting DJ originally from Salford. He started his dancefloor career on the other side of the decks breakdancing all over the North West. Taking in all the music, Mike quickly built up an understanding of what does and doesn't work for the crowds.

An injury prevented Mike's breakdancing career going any further so he decided to pick up the headphones and be the one who supplies the grooves to the masses. Originally playing anything from rare funk to 80's hip hop, Mike discovered House music while warming up for Judge Jules (Ministry of Sound). It all began on vinyl but he made the conversion to Pioneer CDJ's once bitten by the four to the floor bug, Mike quickly incorporated house into his sets which saw him win third place (out of 50) in a DJ competition at Mr Smiths in Warrington. The judges were that impressed, Mike was offered a residency on the spot!

Mike is often in demand by Bars & Night Clubs for his unique style that combines retro funk & 80's hip hop with house & electro. Mike's slick and diverse sets have gained him a loyal following throughout the North West and seen him play at many venues across the region, including Tiger Tiger (monthly resident), Revolution, Moho Live & Brassingamens. To add to this experience Mike features in the line up for "Holic" at The End, London which has had resounding success, rapidly becoming one of London's busiest Thursday night parties. Hosted by Tomoki Tamura (Geisha Disco Boys ) and Stuert Smith (Big City Rats). Mike also has sets at Venues abroad with Marharber Club in Tunisia, Club Kayack in Malaga and Camelot Castle Club in Crete to name a few.

Mike currently hosts his own weekly "Monkey Funk" night every Friday at Moda in Knutsford, Cheshire where he mixes it up to a loyal crowd who never know what he's going to play next. Also, Mike started up a house & electro monthly party called "MAN/iBZ", a tribute to the two main musical influences in his life. Manchester and Ibiza respectively. Each month see's Mike pull in the top, cutting edge DJ talents from across the country. Whether they are big name DJs or the 'next big thing', Mike's ability to spot a DJ who will entertain as much as he does is unique. Recent guests have seen Danny Whitehead (Space, Ibiza), Jimmy Bell (Ministry of Sound), Pete Gooding (Cafe Mambo, Ibiza) and Andy Warburton (Hed Kandi) grace the decks.

Along with Mike's hectic DJ schedule, he is one half of production duo "Two Far Tony's" with fellow DJ and Club owner Jamie Van Goulden. The "Two Far Tony's" demonstrate Mike's eclectic and diverse musical tastes. Their first Album "Fast But Slow" takes in electro, house, hip-hop and breaks. Music production has already seen Mike work alongside Nick Hussey (alterEgo), Mike Neilson (Red Venom) & Barry James (Prolific Studios). As a reflection of Mike's talent he gained a sponsorship deal with Ringspun Clothing for whom he plays a monthly set at The Circle Club, Manchester. This is sure to contribute to Mike's imminent rise to the top!!!
